Everything you need to break into FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities) sales and trading at top-tier banks - from Sixth Form to University to Full Time.
THE PROBLEM
Not because they lack talent - because the playbook only exists inside the banks.
onDesk puts it in your hands.
WHERE OUR STUDENTS ARE TARGETING
RESULTS
“I just completed my Morgan Stanley spring week. The foundation onDesk gave me in Year 12 was the difference.”
“I’d applied twice before with nothing. After Elite, I knew exactly how to answer the technical questions and landed Goldman.”
“As a non-target student, I thought these roles were out of reach. onDesk’s networking strategy got me onto the BNP Paribas rates desk.”
“I finally understood which role suited me and could articulate it confidently in every interview. Barclays FX Sales.”
“The founder’s CV review was brutal - but exactly what I needed. Deutsche Bank offered me a place on their commodities desk.”
The highest-paid desk nobody tells you about.
Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities - the engine room of global finance. Trillion-dollar decisions, six-figure year-one comp, the sharpest minds in the building.
Graduate schemes don’t mention it. Career platforms ignore it. The people who land these roles found out through someone on the inside.
Now you have someone on the inside.

Every year, brilliant candidates fail FICC interviews - not because they lack ability, but because the playbook only exists inside the banks. onDesk was built by a Fixed Income Analyst at a US Bulge Bracket Investment Bank, and an LSE graduate who watched it happen first-hand, and decided to put that knowledge where it belongs.
US Bulge Bracket Investment Bank · Fixed Income Analyst · LSE Graduate
THE ORIGIN
When I arrived at The London School of Economics, I knew I wanted a career in financial markets. What I didn’t know was that the most lucrative, most intellectually demanding, most globally connected corner of finance - FICC - was essentially invisible in every careers guide I could find.
Equities had Instagram pages. Investment banking had prep courses. FICC had nothing. And so I spent two years piecing it together through cold emails, coffee chats, LinkedIn messages and rejected applications - before securing my London Summer Sales and Trading Internship into a full time role as a Fixed Income Analyst at a US Bulge Bracket Investment Bank.
Sitting on the desk, I realised the gap wasn’t talent. It was information. The students who were missing these roles weren’t less capable - they were less informed.
THE TIMELINE
Everything you learn comes from someone who has actually done the job. Not theory - desk reality.
Every module is written to the point. You will not find generic advice. You will find exactly what you need, nothing else.
You pay once. You access the content forever. As the market evolves, so does onDesk.
THE PROGRAMME
Nine modules. Three depth levels. The complete system to break into FICC sales and trading at a top-tier bank - built by someone who did it.
SECTION ONE
Nine modules covering everything required to break into FICC sales and trading - from first principles to offer negotiation. Click any module to see what’s inside.
An end-to-end map of the FICC division: fixed income, currencies, commodities, structuring, and sales. How the desk is organised, who does what, and why FICC is the highest-paid division in the bank.
Bonds, rates, FX, credit, commodities. How each market works, what moves prices, and how to speak about them with the fluency interviewers test for. No finance degree required.
Spring week deadlines, summer internship opens, off-cycle windows. Bank by bank, city by city. The calendar most students only discover after the windows have closed.
What each bank’s FICC desk actually does, which desks are most active, how they recruit, and what they look for. Bulge brackets, French banks, boutiques, and regional players.
CV structure, cover letter frameworks, online application answers. The exact format used by candidates who get through, built from reviewing hundreds of applications that didn’t.
How to identify the right people, approach them with cold messages that get responses, run coffee chats, and convert contacts into referrals. The Canary Wharf cold approach framework.
HireVue, Pymetrics, SHL, and every other tool banks use to cut candidates before the first phone call. What they test, what they select for, and how to prepare specifically.
Phone screens, competency rounds, technical interviews, desk presentations, and superdays. Question frameworks, answer structures, and the mental models that separate strong candidates from exceptional ones.
How to evaluate offers, negotiate compensation, choose between competing offers, and prepare for your first day. Including how to handle exploding offers and deadline pressure.
All nine modules are included in every paid onDesk programme - Core, Premium, Elite, and Head Start. What changes between programmes is the level of personal coaching on top.
NOT SURE WHERE TO START?
What FICC is, why it matters, how recruitment works. 10 minutes.
SECTION TWO
The curriculum moves through three natural levels. Every student starts at Foundations and progresses - the pace depends on where you are in your cycle.
For students who are new to FICC and need to build from the ground up. Foundations covers the core concepts - what each market is, how it works, and why it matters - in accessible, structured language. No prior knowledge assumed.
For students who understand the basics and are ready to go deeper. Into the Market builds real market knowledge - how desks think, how products are priced, what drives rates and FX moves, and how to talk about markets with genuine conviction.
For students in the final stages of preparation - spring week or internship applications in progress, interviews imminent. The Desk focuses on interview-ready fluency: trade pitches, technical Q&A, mock conditions, and the mental models that separate strong candidates from exceptional ones.
SECTION THREE
Every student accesses the same curriculum. What differs is the level of personal support around it.
SELF-STUDY
The complete onDesk curriculum as a self-study package. All modules, all frameworks, all materials.
COACHED
Core plus a 1:1 strategy call and full review of your CV and cover letter with direct written feedback.
FULL PROGRAMME
POPULARThe complete 8-week structured programme - three live sessions, mock interview, priority support throughout.
SIXTH FORM & FIRST YEAR
A bespoke curriculum for sixth formers and early university students. FICC, university strategy, and a 60-min founder call.
SECTION FOUR
The core onDesk audience. Undergraduates and postgraduates at target and non-target universities targeting spring weeks, summer internships, or off-cycle placements. onDesk is built around the university recruitment cycle - its timelines, its banks, and its assessment formats.
Pre-university students with an interest in finance. Head Start gives sixth formers the FICC knowledge and university strategy that most students only discover in their second or third year - by which point the window is already narrowing.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
ABOUT ONDESK
onDesk is the UK’s first career education platform built specifically for breaking into FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities) sales and trading roles at top-tier banks in London, Paris, and the Middle East. It was built by a 24-year-old Fixed Income Analyst at a US Bulge Bracket Investment Bank who graduated from LSE.
onDesk is for UK university students - particularly those at target and non-target universities - who want to break into FICC sales or trading. onDesk Head Start is for private school sixth formers, sold to parents who want to give their child the earliest possible advantage.
FICC is the largest and most globally connected area of investment banking by revenue. It covers Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities - the instruments that move markets. Yet almost no career education platform addresses it. onDesk exists to fill that gap.
THE PROGRAMMES
Core is a self-study course package - the complete knowledge vault. Premium adds a personal 1:1 strategy call and full CV and cover letter review. Elite is the full 8-week programme, adding mock interviews, live coaching sessions, and end-to-end placement support.
Head Start is designed for private school sixth formers and high school students and is sold to parents. It provides the earliest possible advantage - introducing students to FICC markets, the City, and career strategy before university, when most of their peers haven’t even heard of FICC.
The Elite programme runs for 8 weeks and includes three structured sessions - an opening strategy call, a mid-programme check-in, and a full mock interview conducted and debriefed by the Founder. Written feedback is provided after the mock interview.
Yes. All programmes include lifetime access to all materials and updates. The FICC landscape evolves, and so does the onDesk content. You benefit automatically.
ABOUT FICC
FICC stands for Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities. It encompasses government bonds, corporate bonds, rates derivatives, foreign exchange, and commodities including oil, metals and agricultural products. The FICC desk is often the largest revenue-generating division at major investment banks.
All major bulge-bracket banks (Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley, Citi, Bank of America, Barclays, Deutsche Bank, HSBC, BNP Paribas, Societe Generale) actively recruit into FICC sales and trading. European and Middle Eastern banks are significant players too, particularly in Paris and Dubai.
No. onDesk covers London as the primary FICC hub, Paris as a major European centre (particularly for French banks and their global FICC operations), and Dubai/the Middle East - one of the fastest-growing FICC markets globally, where Bank of America, JPMorgan, and others have significant presences.
Sales professionals work directly with institutional clients - asset managers, hedge funds, pension funds - advising on products and executing on their behalf. Traders manage risk and make markets. Both sit on the FICC desk. onDesk covers both in detail, including which path suits your strengths.
