Terms of service

Terms of use

Last updated: October 2026. These terms apply to the onDesk platform.

1. The service

onDesk is an online careers education platform for school sixth forms, with optional one-to-one support that parents can buy for their own child. It helps a school evidence its careers provision; it is not a provider of technical education and does not discharge a school's statutory duties, which remain the school's own responsibility.

2. Accounts

  • Students join with their school's join code. Join codes are issued to the school, not to individuals, and must not be shared outside the school.
  • Students under 16 may not use the platform until a parent or guardian has confirmed consent through the consent link we email them.
  • Students aged 16 or 17 may use the platform, but parental consent is required before anything can be purchased for them.
  • Teacher accounts are created by invitation only and are tied to one school.
  • Coach accounts are disabled until a DBS Enhanced with Barred List check has been recorded for that person.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password secure. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access to your account.

3. Acceptable use

The platform is for genuine careers preparation. There is no student-to-student messaging and no facility to share work between students. You must not attempt to access another student's data, another school's data, or any part of the platform outside your role. We may suspend an account that puts other users, particularly children, at risk.

4. School licences

A school licence covers the school's whole cohort for the licence period stated on the order. Trial licences are free and can be ended by either side at any time. Licence terms for paid licences are agreed with the school before payment.

5. One-to-one support and payment

One-to-one support is bought by a parent for their own child. Prices are shown before you pay. Our cancellation and refund terms are set out in our refund policy.

6. No guaranteed outcomes

onDesk provides education and preparation. Nothing we publish or provide is a promise or guarantee of any application outcome, offer, placement or employment.

7. Data protection and safeguarding

We handle personal data as set out in our privacy notice, with children's data handled under our data protection summary. Safeguarding concerns should be raised with info@getondesk.com and, where relevant, the student's school.

8. Changes and law

We may update these terms; material changes will be emailed to account holders. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Questions: info@getondesk.com.
